Chaos Now Holds the World Record for Largest Graph Processed

Chaos has achieved the #1 ranking in Graph500's capacity benchmark for single-source shortest path (SSSP) algorithms!

The Achievement

We processed a scale 33 graph containing 128 billion edges (3 TB of data) in approximately 46 minutes using only 8 commodity machines. This outperforms the nearest competitor by 4x.

Technical Details

The system was built using "Chaos in Ragnarok mode" and leverages Hurricane, our analytics framework. Graph500 version 2.0 recently published expanded benchmark specifications beyond breadth-first search, enabling this new submission category.

Progress

This represents significant progress from our previous #4 position in Graph500's capacity ranking achieved roughly two years earlier with the same Chaos/Ragnarok system.

The full results are available on the Graph500 website.
